During summer 2013 children from Reception, Year 4 and Year 6 took part in the project and Emma Rickaby (year 4 teacher) had a central role in helping with the organisation and progress of the sessions.
The main focus of these sessions was to encourage children to contribute to the development of the application. Children worked together with Matt and Neus to develop the character and to think how this character could be animated to express different health states. Children were contributing their ideas verbally, through acting and in drawings.
Matt and Neus also visited some children at Great Ormond Street Hospital to find out what they thought of the app and encouraged them to give their views on the work that was being done in the school.
After developing the instrument we want to demonstrate its properties compared to more traditional means of data collection (STAGE 2).
